ALWAYS

  • Calibrate the touch after each firmware update
  • Use your finger or stylus. Press the mark (X) until you hear a peep tone.
  • Use only CF cards approved by GMC-I Messtechnik
  • Format the CF card only in its analyzer
  • Format the Compact Flash card after a successful firmware update
For the firmware update, always use Slot1, Slot2 is used for formatting. For more information visit our homepage. See myGMC for a detailed description of the update procedure.
  • Save important files on your PC
  • After completing the recording, allow the device enough time to write the data from the cache to the CF. The display will show "Shooting complete"
  • After starting a recording, observe the message "Saved events" in the display. If the device detects several events, which are shown in the meter reading, it is an indication that the limits have been set too tightly or incorrectly. If so, you can see this in the display under "Saved events" or because of fast memory usage.
Check your device settings and change them if necessary.

NEVER

  • Never remove the CF from the device during a recording
  • Never turn off the power during recording
  • Refrain from deleting and formatting operations in PC (exception: copying the hostcode.bin file for firmware update)

    Helpful Hints / Tips

    • The frequency is only displayed in Scope mode.
    • The displayed frequency refers to all channels, it is not displayed per channel.
    • Pay attention to the correctness of the connection (current flow direction, phase sequence, etc.) when parameterizing the device. You can check this in Scope mode as well as in the vector view:
    • Once the measurement record is running, it is advisable to take a snapshot of the waveform. This contains important information, such as Current, voltage, harmonics and provides information about the correctness of the connection. Many events and values can subsequently be corrected by the Dranview software. The "Snapshot" function appears in Scope mode after the recording is started.

DranView: Make a note of the dongle number. This is directly on the dongle. The number on the trailer is just a hotline number. In case of loss, the dongle can be reordered with the corresponding number. Otherwise, the full license fee must be paid.
